The Plane of Innovation
The Plane of Innovation is an industrial junkyard around a great factory, where cast-off clockworks scavenge for parts and new machines are built behind locked doors. Deep inside, a time machine is the only way to reach the Plane of Time.
The junkyard
the plane is a wasteland of industry surrounding a massive factory. Narrow valleys full of refuse cut between towering heaps of junk. Old clockwork automatons, long since replaced in the factory by newer and more efficient models, have dug small niches into the heaps.
These derelict machines keep a built-in urge to go on existing, so they comb the junkyard for spare parts to keep themselves running.
Inside the factory
What happens inside the factory is mostly a mystery. It hums with production teams building an inexplicable machine near the centre of the plane, and that the clockworks, keen to improve themselves, have taken an interest in humanoid biology. The steam-filled halls are dangerous to everyone except the machines that built them.

The Zek arc
Innovation is also the first step of the Zek arc. The Zek arc runs from Innovation to Tactics: defeat the Manaetic Behemoth, or take the bypass, and the way opens to the Tallon Zek and Vallon Zek events in Drunder, the Fortress of Zek, and then to Rallos Zek. That is a flag path, not a doorway: on the map, Innovation’s only portal line still runs to the Plane of Tranquility.

The time machine
The Plane of Time can only be reached from here. Player guides describe the same steps. With the Quintessence of Elements in hand, bring someone with the factory key, open the factory door and turn left into the first room. Through the door there, in the back left corner, a robot named Chronographer Muon waits. Hail him and say “yes”.
He sends you to a part of the zone you cannot otherwise reach. At the end of a walkway stands Maelin beside a time machine. Say “researched” to Maelin, click the machine, and you are taken to the Plane of Time. One player guide adds that this gives a character flag, after which the portal back in Tranquility will also take you there safely.
