Dranik’s Scar

Dranik’s Scar is where Norrath arrives on Kuua. The Priests of Discord send you here, to a gouged wasteland that was once the peaceful home of the dragorn.

The Priests of Discord

To reach Kuua, speak with any Priest of Discord and ask about the land of Discord, and you arrive in Dranik’s Scar. To go home, speak to one of the priests standing in the Scar. The priests are not only in the Plane of Knowledge: the zone-line map files mark one there and others in about twenty home-city zones, from Qeynos, Freeport and Halas to Grobb, Oggok, Shar Vahl and Rivervale.

Our map draws that link as a route off the Scar’s southern edge, labelled for the priests and the Plane of Knowledge. It is a portal, not a zone line, so it does not appear among the zone’s connections.

Gateway to Kuua

Kuua was once the peaceful home of the dragorn, the dragon-born people described in Dranik and the dragorn. Invading Muramites of Discord now overrun it. The Scar is the gateway to the continent, and its zone records rate it for characters of about level 30 to 55, the gentlest ground on Kuua.

Kiltarn the Sharp, Girztal the Attendant, ukun slavehunters and young murkgliders hunt the gouge. Grand Historian Gersh, who opens the Hollows, and Bolodakan are among the dragorn who still stand here.

The rebels and the spire

A Wall of Slaughter chaplain tells you a small force of dragorn in the Scar still holds out against Mata Muram. Harbingers’ Spire, on the Scar’s eastern edge, was a dragorn lookout tower. The Muramites made it a beacon that carries the tidings of Mata Muram’s domain, so stealing the crystals that control it breaks their chain of messages and buys the rebels time.

Where it sits

The zone-line files join the Scar to the Bloodfields to the west, Nobles’ Causeway to the north and Harbingers’ Spire to the north-east. They also mark the Hollows to the east. Those directions match the in-game map, so our map draws the Scar as the hub in the south with the Hollows as a cave icon to the east.
