Shadow Haven

Shadow Haven is a city of trade families dug into caverns that wind through Luclin, master of the Bazaar and the Nexus and the meeting place of every race that comes to the moon.

A city of caves

a classic zone atlas describes a network of caverns winding through Luclin, filled with the domains of several trade families who call Shadow Haven home. It was clearly built from a mix of people and caves; the caverns were reshaped for those who wished to live there, and many look strikingly like their homes on Norrath.

a player guide calls it a network of massive caverns dug out of the moon.

Masters of trade

The city claims the Bazaar and the Nexus, a player guide says, and controls and guards both. The Bazaar brings most of its revenue, through the heavy trade there, but the Nexus matters more, since so many travellers to and from Luclin pass through it.

a player guide adds that the Defenders of the Haven keep the peace in the city’s surroundings, including the Bazaar, the Nexus and parts of Netherbian Lair and the Echo Caverns.

Inside the Haven

The Haven keeps guilds for bards, beastlords, clerics, druids, enchanters, magicians, paladins, rangers, rogues, shamans and warriors, a player guide lists, and full artisan facilities. A player guide notes that three factions run the guild halls in the southwestern part of the city, while vendors keep shops everywhere.

Its most popular attraction, a player guide says, is Shandling’s Roost, the casino of Luclin. The residents are generally suspicious of outsiders, a player guide adds, and careful around them.

Roads

The Atlas lists four neighbours. The Nexus has a portal to the city. One of the Bazaar’s two exits opens into the Haven. There is an obvious one-way exit to the Echo Caverns from one part of town, and a well-hidden two-way entrance near the Nexus teleporter.

Last, the tunnels to the Paludal Caverns carry the Haven’s caravans to Shar Vahl, the trade route that makes the Vah Shir a part of the moon’s commerce.
