Qinimi, Court of Nihilia

Qinimi, the Court of Nihilia, was the court district of the ruined Taelosian city. The Muramites turned it into their fortified headquarters, with a Chamber of Souls, ukun pens and a moat of black sludge.

Court to fortress

The invaders destroyed many of the native symbols and turned the old court building into a fortified headquarters. They added a structure called the Chamber of Souls, pens for the ukun war-hounds and a moat of sickly black sludge. The homes of the nihil, the city’s native people, are all but destroyed.

This is where the legion keeps most of its slaves, and where the Wayfarers lost a scout who was caught sneaking around the housing district.

The councilman

Councilman Sislono Nislan risks his life to help you. The legion destroyed his home but has not broken many of the wards that bar its sacred places. The courtroom needs a key, and the invaders hold them all, taken by torturing his people, so he offers to make a temporary one from mud from the sewers, stonedust from near the coliseum and chalk from around the court.

A geomantic device lifts you into the courtroom. Once a place of peaceful discussion, it is now where the legion tortures people for information. Its leader, Tixxrt, holds a small one called Kreshin, and stopping him is the only way to save the child.

The silent one

The nihil animate stone easily. For a mighty stone worker they once joined eight geomancers into a ninth, who poured that power into the construct. They stopped when they found the ritual slowly took away their gift.

Now a Muramite spellcaster the nihil call the silent one, and the legion calls Xictic, takes three of them at a time into the building with the glowing dome, with eight casters and slavers. Only the legion comes out. Sislono fears she has learned to absorb the geomancers’ power.
