The Halls of Honor

The Halls of Honor are the home of Mithaniel Marr, the Truthbringer, and of heroes from past and present ages.

The realm of the Truthbringer

The fourteenth part of the official Planes of Power lore series says the Halls are carved entirely from white marble trimmed with gold and silver. Four mausoleums stand in the far corners, holding heroes who did acts of selfless bravery and valor in their mortal lives. Between them lie the Hero Shrines, where the two greatest heroes rest, their names written forever in the Book of Marr.

The Battalion of Marr, the peacekeepers of honor, defends the Halls. Mithaniel Marr lives in a grand temple that no mortal may enter. Golden hair falls from beneath his helm, which hides a face thought to be beautiful. The article closes by calling these halls of ivory, gold and silver, where only worthy heroes of self-sacrifice will walk beside the Truthbringer.

Bravery: Trydan Faye

Long before the Age of Turmoil, Trydan Faye marched against a mighty dragon named Rydda`Dar with the Armies of Berr. He led an army deep into the Kingdom of Stone before it was sealed off from the surface.

By the end of the fight only three stood before the dragon: Trydan and the dwarf twins of House Ogrebane, Rythorn and Relthak. Trydan’s glowing palm finished it. In a flash of blinding white light the dragon’s body vanished, leaving only the bodies of the fallen and a single scale in the lair. Many years later Mithaniel Marr called the aged Trydan into the Halls and asked him to stay, and he accepted.

Chivalry: Alekson Garn

Crossing the Northern Desert of Ro, Alekson Garn found a band of crazed nomads tormenting a poor woman. When he reached her she was dead, and he prayed to Mithaniel Marr. The woman, whom he later learned was Eraiza Laine, began to breathe again. When his own death came, he woke in the Halls to rest forever in peace.

Sacrifice: Rhaliq Trell

Rhaliq Trell’s father served in the Army of Berr. When their city was invaded, the townsfolk hid in a sanctuary whose hidden stairs led down to a tunnel. Rhaliq opened the sanctuary doors and walked out alone to face twenty-four soldiers.

He bought the townspeople enough time to escape. He woke before Mithaniel Marr, who asked him to remain in the Halls as an example to everyone. The article names neither the city nor its invaders.
