The Torgiran Mines
The Torgiran Mines are the slave-worked ore mines deep inside Broken Skull Rock, kept dry by luggald runes and lit now and then by lava pools when the sea draws back.
Wealth below the rock
For all its rough outside, Broken Skull Rock is rich underground. The mines lie far inside the island and hold precious metals and gemstones, the clan’s main exports. Captured slaves dig them out, and the ore runs by rail to Dulak’s Harbor.

Runes against the sea
The mines dip below sea level in places. Luggalds have raised shrines and cut mystic runes into the walls, and the runes are said to stop the mines from flooding with a little of Innoruuk’s power. They do not flood, but sometimes the tide recedes and uncovers pools of lava in the caverns.

The black ore
The official history of the island explains why the digging matters so much. During the clan’s rise, the shaman Nadox turned from his people to his god, using his hatred of the land-bound trolls to draw close to the Prince of Hate. He set captives to tunnelling into the stone to build more shrines and altars, and in those excavations they struck black ore.
Veins of the ore resonated with hate. The first miners to uncover it massacred each other. Nadox took it as a gift from Innoruuk and had his most devout priests carry it to a temple, where they learned that a suspension made from the ore shielded the mind from its effects. In larger doses the same suspension sapped the will and made people easy to command.

Who runs the mines
The overseers are named in the zone records: Foreman Deslug, Taskmaster Luga, Overlord Ngrub and Bishop Rimak, with Ritualist Tzobodin and Scryer Xvalos tending the shrines. The zone suits characters of about level 45 to 60.
The zone-line files join the mines to Dulak’s Harbor and to the Crypt of Nadox. Our map draws the mines as a cave icon north-west of the town.

Zone record at a glance
The zone database lists The Torgiran Mines as an indoor zone, open to everyone, with no key or instance needed. Its listed level range is 45 to 60.
The same record names its neighbours as Dulak's Harbor and The Crypt of Nadox. The map on this page draws only the links the map-pack zone lines confirm.
