The Plane of Nightmares and Mujaki
In the Plane of Nightmares even the trees are alive and hostile. One of its prisoners is Mujaki, an Erudite paladin driven to murder by the plane’s ruler.

The forest of nightmares
The seventh part of the official Planes of Power lore series says the plane is ruled by Terris-Thule, the Dream Scorcher. The west of her domain is a thick forest with many small clearings. In the northwest a small cottage stands in disrepair, and behind it a modest graveyard serves the mortal victors of the realm.
The trees are sentient, powerful and malevolent beyond understanding, and often come to life when mortals trespass. Reports reach New Tanaan regularly of the foolishly brave who vanish after traveling there. Her most treasured servants lurk in the southwestern caverns, living at once in astral space and in the primal world.

The Lair of Terris-Thule
The eighth part of the series says a great plateau of horror stands in the far eastern corner of the plane, its stones arranged like a druid circle. Terris-Thule is opposed by her twin brother, Morell-Thule, Lord of Dreams. Those who die in their dreams stay in their nightmare and can never leave the plane.

Mujaki’s family
Sage Unimvariea of the Gatecallers of Erudin set down Mujaki’s story. He was the first child of an Erudite couple, Tevrai, a mage, and Etumara, a cleric. Etumara died giving birth to a second son gifted in magic, who was named Etumer after her.
Mujaki gave his life to Prexus and became a devout paladin of the Ocean Lord. Etumer found the ways of necromancy, drew their father into it too, and won the magician Lady Yuntair away from his brother.

Mujaki the Devourer
All this time the nightmares of Terris-Thule tormented Mujaki’s sleep. At last he cast Prexus aside and went to win his family’s acceptance, and found them at the foulest of necromantic experiments. He drew his once-holy blade and killed them all.
He died in the streets of Erudin on that same blade. Terris-Thule caught his essence, and she drives him to reap the essences of people he despises, people like his father and brother.
