Allakhazam’s class guide sums the warrior up as the fundamental tank: it mitigates incoming damage better than any other class, has strong aggro control and good melee damage, can act as a living shield for an ally in an emergency, and needs a mercenary’s help to solo well.

What a warrior does
Warriors are the masters of armed combat and defense. They take point in battle and go head-to-head with Norrath’s most dangerous creatures, wearing plate and wielding every type of weapon.
They build strength and stamina to unheard-of levels, which makes them hardier than any other class. With heavy armor and excellent defensive skills, they are unmatched at surviving brutal fights. They also learn to taunt, pulling every enemy’s attention onto themselves so the more fragile members of the group stay safe.
The official text calls warriors the cornerstone of a good group, but adds that they fare poorly alone. They are the class for players who like grouping and holding the front line.

The epic: Jagged Blade of War, or the paired Blade of Strategy and Blade of Tactics
Epic quests came to EverQuest in September 2000, shortly after The Ruins of Kunark. They were modelled on the paladin’s Fiery Avenger quest: long, multi-step journeys through the highest-level dungeons, usually needing groups to kill powerful creatures. Each ended in a unique weapon with its own model and particle effects. The warrior’s reward was the Jagged Blade of War, or the paired Blade of Strategy and Blade of Tactics, with the effect Rage of Zek (the Jagged Blade); Rage of Vallon and Rage of Tallon on the twin blades.
Who could be one
In the classic era recreated by Project 1999, the warrior epic could be used by all races. The Iksar appear there because they joined with The Ruins of Kunark.

Titles
After level 50, each class earns titles that show in /who. A warrior became a Champion at 51, a Myrmidon at 55 and a Warlord at 60.

Playing a warrior today
The class is still in the game on Daybreak’s live and time-locked progression servers. Project 1999 recreates the Classic, Kunark and Velious eras, so it has the original fourteen classes. See EverQuest Today for where the game stands now.
