Odus · The Scars of Velious
Stonebrunt Mountains
A vast, spiritual mountain range on the southern coast of Odus, home of the cat-like Kejekans in their fort atop Mount Klaw, now troubled by Heretics and kobolds who have found the way in.
The Kejekans’ mountains
The Stonebrunt Mountains are a very spiritual place, home of the Kejekan people, who rule the land from their small fortress of Kejek atop Mount Klaw. Lately Heretics from Paineel and kobolds from the Warrens have found a way in and begun to trouble them.
The EQ Atlas places the range on the southern coast of Odus and calls it larger than almost any other zone in the game, rated at levels 16 to 46. Allakhazam dates it to August 29, 2001, in The Scars of Velious era.

Pandas, tigers and Ancients
The wildlife is unlike anywhere else on Odus: rabbits, pandas from cubs to mature adults, emerald adders, Kejek leopards and tigers, highland tigers, valley, jungle and mountain spiritlings, and granitebacks. Kobolds roam in many forms, and the Kejekans keep fishermen, lookouts, archers and miners.
Many of the giant creatures called the Ancients are very powerful, immune to root and snare, and extremely fast, so hunting them without pulling extra monsters is hard. Named residents include Khonza Ayssla, Giang Yin, the Ghost of Riddosan, Mirabai, Miranda, Old Ghostback, Rognarog the Infuriated, Slyder the Ancient and a Snowbeast.
Living with the Kejekans
Any illusion makes you kill-on-sight in Kejek, including the wolf forms of rangers and druids and enchanters’ illusions. Otherwise the cats are not aggressive to outsiders unless they are evil, and necromancers above all. Agnostics of evil races are often tolerated, but merchants will not deal with them.
The town has some tradeskill stations, merchants and a place to rest, but melee classes cannot bind there, and the Kejekans will not help you against wanderers that walk through. The Atlas warns that the zone is full of mountains and ravines where it is easy to stumble onto something aggressive. The Kejekans, like the Kerrans, are cat-people of Odus; their moon-bound kin are told of in the Vah Shir.
Getting there
The only way in, the EQ Atlas says, is through Paineel and the kobold-filled Warrens to the place where the kobolds broke through into the range. Its size is a blessing for hunters, with little crowding and many kobold camps, though also vast empty stretches where you could wait a day to see one monster.
A dock on the shore serves a boat to the Gulf of Gunthak, which Allakhazam lists among the zone’s connections.
