Felwithe

The high elf capital at the eastern edge of the Greater Faydark: a quiet, walled city of faith, built by exiles and named for the woman who led them.

A city in two halves

Felwithe stands on the eastern boundary of the Greater Faydark and is split into two zones. Northern Felwithe, reached directly from the forest, holds the paladin and cleric guilds, the bank and most of the shops. Southern Felwithe, reached only through the north, holds the tower that houses the enchanter, magician and wizard guilds.

Its only neighbour is the Greater Faydark. The entrance lies due east of the pass from Butcherblock, at the end of a path that winds around the forest’s edge; Kelethin lies to its northwest, and Crushbone north of that.

Built by exiles

After the Elddar Forest and Takish-Hiz fell, the surviving elves crossed the Ocean of Tears. The city is named for Alissa Felwithe, the Koada’Dal hero who led them and helped secure the Greater Faydark as their new homeland. The high elves began by trying to rebuild Takish-Hiz; their wood elf cousins left to live in the trees, and the two peoples agreed to disagree. Felwithe remains the elven capital. The full story is in Felwithe and the Koada’Dal.

Its laws are old. High Cleric Sarthan Leafwind first wrote down the Code of the Koada’Dal, said to rest on laws Tunare herself set down in the earliest days of Takish-Hiz, and the priesthood still enforces it. King Tearis Thex has reigned for centuries, and Firiona Vie, Tunare’s Chosen, was long counted his heir.

Caerthiel

A darker legend says Felwithe was built on the ruins of Caerthiel, a dark elf capital, and the Teir’Dal of Neriak accuse the high elves of razing it and killing every dark elf there. Most high elves deny it altogether, but a few claim there is evidence of Teir’Dal construction beneath the city.

Quiet streets

The high elves are a reserved, contemplative people, and the city reflects it: no open markets, guild halls everywhere, a river running through the streets and fishing as a favourite pastime. At the far end stands one of its wonders, the mages’ tower, suspended over a pool. Visitors will find a bank, inns, armourers and a Koada’Dal forge in the north, and a teleporter room to the guild halls in the south.

Felwithe is a city of Tunare. Its guilds together form the Clerics of Tunare, and newcomers in the south could start with small errands such as Niola Impholder’s Bat Wings quest for young magicians.
