The Bastion of Thunder
Torden, the Bastion of Thunder, hangs in the middle of a great cylindrical mountain.

Torden
The thirteenth part of the official Planes of Power lore series says the Bastion is reached from the foot of the mountain, through caves and tunnels that climb up the mountain’s core. A vortex of air and debris spins in the hollow core in an endless windstorm, and its energy keeps the Bastion hanging in place.

The tower and the sleeper
The central tower looks as if a tree or some other plant had been cleverly reshaped into it. A light in one of the upper turrets marks where the old hermit sits; that is where Karana sleeps.

The storm avatars
Its storm avatars are a race like the giants of Norrath, but not made by the Warlord; each is the living embodiment of one kind of weather. The Taarid are avatars of burning sandstorms, dust, desert debris and dry heat. The Satuur embody rain, from warm tropical showers to freezing blizzards, sleet and icy hail.

Lightning and wind
The Kuraaln are avatars of lightning, sparks and electricity, and glowing orbs fill their eye sockets. The Volaas embody windstorms and, unlike the others, wear billowing robes instead of heavy plate.

Gaukr Sandstorm can raise gales of sand and stone, Hreidar Lynhillig is always wrapped in a static field, and Kuanbyr Hailstorm’s ravens can beat their wings into hailstorms of stone. Laef Windfall commands the air barracks, and Oreen, a great ice seer, captains the water barracks.
