Lost Dungeons of Norrath
Lost Dungeons of Norrath was EverQuest’s sixth expansion, released on September 9, 2003. It brought instanced dungeons to Norrath for the first time.
What it added
The expansion built its dungeons as instances: each group gets its own copy of an adventure, in solo or raid modes. It also introduced augments, which you slot into gear to improve it, along with slotted armour and the inventory charm. Level cap 65; retail-box buyers also got an in-game magic bag.
There are five dungeons, each with eight to ten adventures, for 48 new zones in all. Completing missions earns Adventure Points, which buy weapons, armour and augments from the Wayfarers’ treasure hoard.
The Wayfarers Brotherhood
The adventures are offered by the Wayfarers Brotherhood, a band of adventurers led by the rogue Morden Rasp. They found the five dungeons and the augmentations, and they run camps near each one. The same brotherhood later crossed the Abysmal Sea to Taelosia, which is how Gates of Discord begins.
Nedaria’s Landing, the Wayfarers’ forest camp that later linked Antonica to Taelosia, was released with this expansion.
Why there is no map
Lost Dungeons of Norrath adds no continent. Its dungeons lie beneath zones you already know, in Everfrost Peaks, East Commonlands, the Northern and Southern Deserts of Ro and the Butcherblock Mountains, and each adventure is an instance with its own entrance at a Wayfarers’ camp. So instead of a map, the five dungeons and their themes have their own page: the Lost Dungeons’ adventures.
